He was born on May 18, 1949 in Thomas, WV and was the son of the late Charles Vernon Shrader and Evelyn Summie (Gainer) Shrader.
Terry was a 4-H All-Star. He entered the West Virginia State Police Academy in July 1972 and retired in 1994. He graduated from WVU with a BA Degree in May 2003 and he was presently employed by the WV Public Service Commission Enforcement Division. He had served as a judge for several municipalities, taught defensive driving and was a member of the WV State Police Retired Members Association and Petersburg Masonic Lodge No. 145 A.F.& A.M. He also was life time member of Order of the Arrow. He was an avid hunter and WVU Mountaineer Fan and enjoyed going to the games and spending time with his family. He had a special connection to his grandson Landon and loved his new title “Pappy”.
Terry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pamela Kay (Cole) Shrader; one son, Christopher B. and wife Dee Dee (Porter) Shrader of Belington, WV; one daughter, Terri Michelle (Shrader) Williams and husband Corey of Owens Cross Roads, AL; one grandson Landon Cole Williams; two step-grandchildren, Luke A. Evans of Scherr, WV and Louise K. Evans of Virginia Beach, VA; one brother, Charles Shrader of Michigan and one sister, JoAnn V. (Shrader) Hart and husband Robert of Petersburg, WV.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 12th from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 13th at 11:00 a.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Gerstell officiating.
Graveside ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 13th at 3:00 p.m. at the Fraternal Cemetery in Belington, WV with Pastor Jimmie Tallman officiating.
