Elizabeth Anne Jackson passed away the morning of August 29, 2018 in Martinsville, Virginia after a brief battle with cancer. Born to George Timothy and Pearl Margaret Johnston in Corpus Christi, Texas, Elizabeth grew up in Houston and spent most of her life in Ellis County. She attended Texas Woman’s University prior to marriage and pursued a degree in accounting from the University of Texas in Arlington. She owned a bookkeeping and tax service in Ennis, Texas from 1978 until 2013 and was an Enrolled Agent with the IRS. She was a devoted member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Maypearl, Texas and of Horsepasture Christian Church near Martinsville, Virginia. She loved suspense novels, camping, canoeing, and true crime television shows. She was an active member of the Republican Party in Ellis County and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.
She is survived by her brother Charles Thomas Johnston and sister Mary Katherine Tibbetts; her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Steve Barton; and many beloved stepchildren, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family is scheduled for Wednesday September 05, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 Pm at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Services to celebrate her life will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 06, 2018 with Rev. Heath Sims officiating. Interment will follow at the Grady Cemetery in Bardwell, TX.
