Robert Peter Zuccarelli graduated from Austin High School in the westernmost neighborhood of Chicago Illinois in 1943. The "Maroon and White" yearbook from 1943 shows that "Bob" or "Zuke" played the solo trombone and was in the Concert Orchestra and later the Social Orchestra. He was also the Sgt.-at-Arms for the Concert Orchestra. He was a Red Cross Representative and was active in the Engineer Club. His ambition was listed to: Be successful. His three word description was "Musical, Handsome, Popular". (He left out modest!). Most of the boys from the High School graduating classes of 1942 1/2 and 1943 were drafted into the military upon graduation.
