Phyllis Eleanor (Goss) Conlon

TEWKSBURY - Phyllis E. (Goss) Conlon, 90, a well known member of the Tewksbury community, died peacefully Wednesday morning, June 18, at Wingate in Andover following a lengthy illness.

She was the wife of the late U.S.P.S. Tewksbury letter carrier Thomas E. Conlon.

She was born in Cambridge, April 19, 1924, one of four children of the late Philip and Anna (Torretta) Goss, and raised in Cambridge. She was a graduate of the Cambridge High and Latin High School. After her marriage to "Tucker," they moved to Tewksbury to raise her family.

She was active at St. William's Parish, as a faithful communicant, was a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality, and was active in the 1960's expansion projects for the church building program.

She worked as a co-manager of the Bradford Coffee Shop until her retirement.

She is survived by three children, Thomas G. and his wife Marjorie (Sheridan) Conlon, Barbara J. Gillette-Manna and her husband Jeffrey Manna all of Tewksbury, Michele and her husband Paul Lyver of Sandwich, MA; ten grandchildren, Michael and his wife Kristin Gillette of Norwood, Ann Whynot and her fiancé Ed Parthum of Tewksbury, Meghan and her husband Walter Jop IV of Tewksbury, Caitlin and her husband Joseph Russo of Tewksbury, Jacquelyn and her husband James Robert Casey of Lowell, Timothy Lyver of Watertown, Erin and her husband Brian Bedient of Acushnet, Christopher Lyver of Sandwich, Jonathan and his wife Sandra Manna of Shirley, and Nicholas Manna of Orlando, Fl; seven great grandchildren; and was predeceased by her grandsons, Daniel S. Gillette Jr., and Christopher J. Manna; her sisters, Anne Anderson, Rosemary O'Neil; and brother, Philip Goss.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, June 23, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury.

Burial followed at Tewksbury Cemetery.

Memorials to Daniel S. Gillette Jr., Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Michael Gillette, 134 Irving St., Norwood, MA 02062, will be appreciated.
