Sidney R. Levine, Age 105. Beloved husband of the late Anne nee Pollock. They were married for 69 years. Remarkably, each lived to an age of over 100 years. Loving father of Eleanor J. (Louis) Gross and Harold J. (Sharon) Levine. Proud grandfather of Scott (Valerie) Gross, Karyn (Paul ) Van Heijningen, Robert (Becky) Levine, Stephanie (Yony) Mazal. Cherished great-grandfather of Nicholas, Jackson, Alex, Zoe, Robert J., Ryan and Joseph. Dear brother of the late Fritzie (the late Harry) Schwartz and Henry (the late Esther) Levun. The many projects Sid worked on included the city water tunnels, filtration plants, bridges and expressways. He was a veteran of WWII who served in Europe in the Engineer Corps. Sid believed that being active was the key to a long life. To prove it, following his retirement, his book titled "Verses To Reckon With" was published. He became president of two successful clubs - The Sunday Super Club and the Skokie Chapter of the AARP. He also enjoyed the 30 years of lively discussion that took place at the Skokie Mens Club. Services Tuesday 1PM at Temple Beth Israel, 3601 W. Dempster, Skokie, IL 60076. Interment Shalom. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Temple Beth Israel.
