William "Redding" Coley, 31, of Columbus, GA passed unexpectedly in his sleep on Saturday June 30, 2018.
He was born February 12, 1987 in Columbus, GA to parents Jacqie and Joe. He grew up playing soccer and was a proud Eagle Scout of Troop 169, receiving his Eagle award in 2005. Redding graduated from Columbus High School in 2005. He attended CSU, Columbus Tech, and received his Associates in Sociology from Georgia Military College in 2014. Upon graduation, Redding began working for TSYS.
He welcomed his son, Lincoln in 2016 and was married to his wife, Amber, in 2017 after 10 years together. Through the years he enjoyed being outdoors, animals, white-water rafting, playing Pokémon, investing in the stock market, collecting superhero/cartoon figurines, and spending time with his son.
He is survived by his wife, Amber Raye Coley; son, Lincoln Redding Coley; parents, Jacquelyn Carol Blackwell (Awtrey) and John Joseph Coley and his wife Pat; step-father, Donnie Blackwell; grandmother, Lucy Coley Mixon; brother, Samuel Redding Coley and his wife Lacy; sister, Kaitlyn Carol Blackwell and her fiancé James; brother, Wesley Weldon and his wife Brittany; sister, Kristy Hawkins and her husband Britt; many cousins, aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews, friends and his cat Stella.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents; Nancy Carol Awtrey and Samuel Jackson Awtrey; paternal grandfather, William Coley Jr.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Visitation will be one hour prior. Dress is casual and comfortable just as he would have wanted.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paws Humane Society or Children's Miracle Network to help premature infants in NICUs.
Redding was so dearly loved by us all and will truly be missed.
