Born to James and Pamelia Rosson. Roland Lee Rosson married Flora Belle Murray in Phoenix on August 11, 1880. The Rossons had a total of seven children - Irene, Vivien, Floy, Norma, and Clyde lived to adulthood. Their two other children died in infancy – their first son Roland Lloyd died at age five weeks, and an unnamed infant daughter died at birth.

James William Rosson was the s/o Oliver Nimrod (Olly) Rosson (abt 1790, Culpeper Co. VA ~ 1837, Pittsylvania Co, VA) and Elizabeth Frances Colvin (abt 1795, Fauquier Co., VA ~ 1850, Prince William Co, VA).

James Rosson and Pamelia Shadrack had the following children, all born in Culpeper Co., VA:
