Emolene Adell Miles, 88, of Sikeston, died June 9, 2015, at the Golden Living Center in New Madrid. Born July 25, 1926, in Cleora, Okla., to the late James Paten and Oma Belle McMillan Earnest, she was employed by Benedix Aviation during World War II, and was later employed by the Potlatch Corporation, retiring after thirty years. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston, the Daughters of Isabella and the Altar Sodality. On December 23, 1944, in Sikeston, she married Victor Miles, who preceded her in death on April 1, 1999. Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jim and Donna Miles of Oran and Alan Miles of Sikeston; two grandchildren, Melissa Miles of Sikeston and Michael and Jamie Miles of Cape Girardeau; and one great grandson, Mitchell Miles of Cape Girardeau. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with Father Maria Thuma of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, officiating.
