Waynesville, NC – Martha C. Lancaster, 83, passed away at her residence on Monday, July 30, 2018. She was born in Richmond, VA on April 29, 1935 to the late Robert and Sudye Crafton. Martha was a long time teacher in Haywood County at Saunook Elementary School, East Waynesville Elementary School and Central Elementary School. She was also the president of Women In Church at Covenant Presbyterian Church as well as the piano player for many decades.
In addition her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Lancaster.
Left to cherish her memory is her children, Michael Lancaster of Waynesville, NC, Matthew (Jennifer) Lancaster of Newton, NC and Mark (Crystal) Lancaster of Waynesville, NC; four grandchildren, Grace Carol Lancaster, William Jesse Lancaster, Benjamin Alan Lancaster and Katherine Elizabeth Lancaster.
Services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, August 2, 2018 in the Chapel of Garrett Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the funeral home. The Reverend Larry Jones and Matthew Lancaster will officiate the services.
Burial will be in the Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.
