Walter was one of ten children born to William Eastburn and his wife, Julia Ann Moore. Walter was mustered into the Union Army from Kankakee, Illinois during August of 1862. He was discharged on April 1, 1863 with disabilities. Walter died at his family's home 14 days later from injuries received in battle. Death-age: 19 years, 7 months and 4 days
