Andy Anka guided his son's career for many years, including serving as president of their Spanka Music Publishing Co. Formerly of Canada, Andy Anka moved from Ottawa, Canada, to Las Vegas in the mid-’70s, where he opened the Jubilation restaurant.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret, the marketing director for Nevada Dance Theatre; another son, Andrew E. Jr.; a daughter, Mariam Becker; seven brothers and sisters and eight grandchildren. Viewing was at Palm Mortuary, 1325 North Main St., in Las Vegas, with internment in Ottawa, Canada in April 13, 1993.
