Robert Joseph O'Toole, Jr., aka Bob the Builder, passed away on June 27, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Philadelphia in the neighborhood of Kensington. He was a hardworking man and a jack of all trades. At one time, he owned a bar in the Kensington neighborhood at the corner of Coral & Sergeant Sts. The name of the bar was O'Toole's Tavern. After he sold the bar, he went back to roofing and construction.
He had played halfies with his friends in the school yard at Kensington High School.
He is survived by his daughter and caregiver, Shannon Coleman(nee O'Toole)(Mark); also Michael(Ashley), Bobby(Carol). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren. He is survived by 4 brothers, David, Kevin , Mark and John Benjamin O'Toole.
He is also survived by many O'Toole cousins and Rosenfelt cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. O'Toole, Sr. and Florence(Flossie) Gordon(nee Rosenfelt). He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin O'Toole and his maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Rosenfelt. He was also preceeded in death by 3 O'Toole uncles, Benjamin, Harry and John O'Toole. Also preceeded in death by his Aunt Anna Marie Weney(nee O'Toole). Preceeded in death by several O'Toole cousins. Albert, Jr., Daniel, Tommy Weney and Antoinette Weney.
Bobby came from a huge family and he will be missed very much.
There will be no service held. That was Bobby's wish.
The family would like to thank the amazing of Kindred Hospice of Charleston, especially his nurse Jennifer and Drs. Boyer, Lambert and Richter, as well as the staff of the Inpatient Care Unit for taking such excellent care of Pop. Because of their excellent care, he was able to pass peacefully at home surrounded by family. He will truly be missed.
