Debbie was a 1975 graduate of the University of Virginia, a beloved mathematics teacher in the Charlottesville City Schools and at The Covenant School, known to many as "Mrs. D," and a supporter of all their athletic teams, especially baseball.
She will be remembered for her accepting and loving spirit and many acts of kindness toward others. Debbie was a loving and cherished wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her mother, Jean Arnold of Harleysville, Pa.; her husband of 36 years, Jeff Douglas of Charlottesville; a son, Jim Douglas and his wife, Heidi and their children, Ava, Beckett, and Colton, all of Charlottesville; a daughter, Rachel Douglas of Charlottesville; a sister, Catherine Arnold Rubbo of King of Prussia, Pa.; two brothers, Chuck Arnold of Rochester, N.Y., and Dan Arnold of Baton Rouge, La.; numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will conduct a private service at a future date.
