Martha "Ellen" was my great grandfather, Reuben Thomas Dallas' 3rd wife. They married November 15, 1893, at their home, according to a newspaper announcement of the marriage. They spent almost 40 years of married life together, in Ardmore, OK where Reuben operated wholesale and retail grocery businesses.
Ellen had at least two children - Chester Ruup and Dovey Alice Ruup, when they married. (Spellings varied) Martha and Reuben had one son together: Arthur Dallas. Reuben had seven children with previous marriages, my grandfather Harry was one. Harry's brother, William Otis Dallas, was raised by Reuben and 'Ellen', after Reuben and Mary Ellen divorced.
Ellen died within a short time before Reuben, and they are buried side-by-side at the Ardmore Cemetery.
