Luna Mandic had been out fishing with her father Dejan and two of his friends when their car was blown up on their way home. A neighbor to the scene of the accident has told how every window pane in the house rattled. Doctors knew that Luna would not survive, but her mother got to meet her while her heart still hit. Her heart could not beat by itself but she got help from a respirator. Her mother laid next to Luna in bed for almost ten hours. Luna was later declared dead at the hospital after her mother had gotten to say goodbye of her daughter. Her mother described Luna as a smart and happy girl. She was a very determined child and enjoyed playing with her friends. Her biggest idol was Elsa from the Disney movie Frost. Her family and friends used to call her Elsa sometimes. She also loved the chocolate drink O'boy.
