Daniel V. Hogan (Dan), age 91, of Glens Falls, NY, died July 11, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born July 7, 1927, in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Dr. Daniel J. Hogan and Elois M. Hogan.

Dan graduated from Vincentian Institute High School in Albany, NY where he was voted All-Albany in basketball for three consecutive years. He enlisted in the U.S. Army immediately after high school and trained at Fort Knox, KY. After completing his military commitment, he attended St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY on a basketball scholarship and played on both the varsity basketball and baseball teams. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

Dan was a highly respected member in the law enforcement field having served in the Federal Bureau of Investigation for nearly thirty years, many of which were as a Special Agent in the Glens Falls, NY office. He was elected to the Warren County Board of Supervisors where he oversaw several vital changes to his beloved Adirondack community. He fostered lifelong friendships through his interests in politics, tennis, racquetball and his faithful devotion to St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls. In his spare time, Dan enjoyed singing, painting, storytelling and watching sports with his friends and family.

Dan was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Rita Hogan. He is survived by his four children and their spouses; Judith Siegel of Queensbury, NY, Kate Meath and her husband Rick of Queensbury, NY, Mary Milewski and her husband David of Williamsburg, VA and Dan Hogan and his wife Lorrie of South Glens Falls, NY; twelve grandchildren, Andrew Siegel, Joseph Siegel, Lindsay Schram, Emily Meath, Mary Kate Meath, Julia Milewski, Colleen Milewski, Kevin Milewski, Danny Hogan, Hope Hogan, Christopher Hogan and Johanna Hogan; and his devoted sisters Sheila and Alice and brother George as well as nieces, nephews, and relatives who will miss him dearly.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the Singleton Sullivan Potter Funeral Home at 407 Bay Road, Queensbury, NY.

A Catholic Mass honoring Dan Hogan’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 16, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 62 Warren Street, Glens Falls, NY. Dan’s burial service will follow immediately after the Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Glens Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Dan’s honor to St. Mary’s Church, 62 War
