(STRICK) Roanoke Times, The (VA) - February 24, 2008 Edition: METRO Section: VIRGINIA Page: B7 Readability: 4-5 grade level (Lexile: 840) Linden Lee (Strick) Strickler, Jr., 62, of Roanoke and formerly of New Castle, passed away suddenly Thursday, February 21, 2008. He was born in Oriskany, Virginia a son of the late Linden L. Strickler, Sr. and Edith Genieve Strickler. Strick worked for many years at Ingersoll-Rand and recently at Virginia Scrap Iron & Metal Co. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he also enjoyed collecting pocket knives. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Steve Austin. Surviving are his wife, his children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, a sister, his mother-in-law, and many relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2008, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Pastor Jeff Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 24, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 982-221.
