“...I can't go on. I'll go on.”...

Dave’s determination and drive was infectious. His personality was larger than any obstacle he ever faced... I never knew many people or things that affected my other cousin, Dave’s Uncle, the way Dave did, because he was truly One of a Kind, a Beautiful, Remarkable Soul-

Dave Renfro was born to Don and Rebecca (McCrum) Renfro at the Bethesda Naval Hospital and followed his father’s footsteps down the path to the United States Army. SPC4 Renfro served his Country in the Army as an Avionic Mechanic until he retired. He married Cristina “I held hands with a girl for the first time when I was 28 years old and married her four years after that. She’s all I ever think about!“ They had one child, Donald. His Family was the most important
job and fun to him. He prided himself in spending the most time with his son that he could as a dad.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Don L. Renfro; grandparents, Jack and Doris (Williams) Renfro and amazing aunt, Lisa Renfro.
Left surviving his loss are his beautiful Wife, Cristina; their son, Donald; Mother Rebecca Renfro; sister, Jenny Renfro; his special Uncle and best friend, Steve Renfro; Aunt, Shila Manley, Niece Aubree Renfro; Nephew , Lee Renfro, other cousins, extended family, and the many Special friends he made along the way.

Dave was an Ultra Runner and finished his goal run in 2018. He was featured in “Epic Ultra” in 2016 and inspired so many-

4/2016-
Dave Renfro (in his own words): I’ve always been fairly active, but I started running just before my 40th birthday when I realized my body was changing and that I needed more exercise to stay fit. I started running on trails about a year after that and actually completed a 37-mile death march on the OHT by myself a month before running my first ultra, the 2012 War Eagle 50k. I was pretty much hooked at that point. I started feeling like crap in the summer of 2014 and was diagnosed with Papillary Renal Cell Cancer in September of that year. My CT Scan looks like a plate of General Tso’s chicken. My left kidney is trashed plus I have spots on my neck, between my lungs, on both sides of my liver, and on lymph nodes, all over my abdomen. Fortunately, the doctors have not found a speck of cancer in either leg, and the oral targeted therapy drug I’m taking is holding the line on everything else. That means I can still run! -Excerpt-

*A GoFundMe page was set up to help the Family with expenses after Dave’s long battle with Renal Papillary Cell Cancer*
