Herman A. Achey, 93, of Lebanon, died on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Spang Crest Manor.

He was born on Saturday, September 20, 1924 to the late Anthony Achey and Nora Achey nee Gassert in Lebanon.

He graduated from Myerstown High School and later worked as a press punch operator for Bethlehem Steel and owned Jonestown Ceramics Shop.

Herman was a Veteran of the Navy in World War II and was in the Invasion of Normandy. He was a charter member of Lebanon Campers.

Surviving are sons Glenn R. spouse of Gaile Achey, Elizabethtown, Grady Simmons, Hanover, Michael Simmons, Manheim; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by wife Dorothea M. "Dora" Achey nee Meze; siblings Henry Achey, Paul Achey, Kathryn Smith, Sarah Moyer, Levi Achey, Adeline Snyder, Ray Achey, Edith Deck, Earnest Achey.

Viewing will be on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11:30 AM at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors, following the service.
