Mabel Clare (nee Edison) Schreiber, 77, of 112 Vidal Street North, Sarnia, ON, died on Saturday, May 23, 1959 in Petrolia after an illness since 1957. She was a native of Port Huron and the half-sister of the late inventor Thomas Alva Edison. Mabel was the youngest and the last of the large Edison family. She was born in on October 7, 1882 in Fort Gratiot after the family moved from Milan, OH subsequently settling in Sarnia since 1910. Beloved wife of the late Lefroy Schreiber. Devoted mother of Frederick E. Schreiber of Sarnia. Loving grandmother of Hugh Schreiber of Sarnia. Cherished aunt of William Johnston of Port Huron and Edison Johnston of Whittier, CA. The funeral services were officiated on Wednesday, May 27, 1959 at 3:30 PM in the D.J. Robb Funeral Home, 102 Victoria Street North, Sarnia, ON N7T 5W9. Interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery in Sarnia.
