Master Sha-heem Lamar Pond died Friday April 20, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family and friends after a very courageous battle with cancer.

The family will greet friends today (Sunday) 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Sha-heem was born May 13, 2001 in Union County, NC and was a son of Floyd Robert and Mary Brown Pond. He was a kindergarten student at Lilesville Elementary School.

A member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, one of his greatest desires was to be baptized, and on Wednesday before his death, Pastor Bill baptized him at his bedside with his family and friends there.

A great fan of Charlie Pride, he was given the opportunity to meet him in January at Cypress Gardens in Florida through the Make a Wish Foundation.

Many lives have been touched by this special little boy, his bright eyes and wonderful smile proved his courage as he faced the many challenges in his life.

The family would like express their thanks to Anson Community Hospice, Lilesville School, Andy's Special Friends Foundation of Myrtle Beach and the communities of Anson County for their support during the time of Sha-heem's illness and death.
