Nellie Emily was the daughter of William Brinkley Wilson, and Mary Luella Rupert of Mercer, PA. She married William Cearing Lardin April 16, 1907. They had five children: Hannah Elizabeth Lardin; Daniel Wilson Lardin; Arthur Rupert Lardin; Helen Lousie Lardin; and William Cearing Lardin, Jr. who died as an infant.

Nellie was gifted in Piano and Violin, and taught music for many years. She was also an antique dealer in Mercer, Pa., and had a business with her sister for many years.

She was a member of the Daughters of The American Revolution, and a member of the United Methodist Church.
