Mark A. Bartley

LEXINGTON -- Mark Allan Bartley, 51, of Lexington, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at St. John Hospital, Detroit after a courageous battle with a long illness.

He was born January 8, 1956 in Yale, son of Fred and Elna (Kellerman) Bartley.

Mark was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, and served in many capacities. He graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School and St. Clair County Community College. He was employed as a machinist at Fraser Mfg., Lexington for 11 years. He enjoyed working at the family orchard and meeting many people. He will be sadly missed by many.

He is survived by his parents, Fred and Elna Bartley of Lexington; a brother, Gary (Patty) Bartley of Dowagiac, MI; two sisters, Lynne Witte of Mt. Clemens and Gayle (Robert) Grimm of Alma, KS; a niece, Elisabeth Grimm; nephews, Erik and Aaron Grimm, all of Alma, KS; several aunts and uncles; and a special friend, his dog, Abby.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Karl and Selma Kellerman and Claude and Samantha Bartley.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Lexington. The Rev. Barry Sheldon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Pomeroy Funeral Home, Lexington from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
