Virginia was the daughter of Joseph (Jose) Lawrence (Laurenio)
Gonsalves(Gonçalves Baeta) and Rose Angela Perry.
The couple was living in Santa Rosa, Sonoma, California when she was born. Virginia was the only child born to Rose and Joseph.
Her mother, Rose was a seamstress for years. Virginia's mother remarried to, PFC Ralph M Ritter and resided for years and were buried together in
Monterey(Fort Ord) area. Rose lived a very long life and in later years when she developed cancer, she temporarily came to live with her daughter, Virginia in Merced on 21st Street. I happened to come visit when she was their. Rose came out, she looked around the beautiful old door at me, our eyes met and not realizing she was my great grandma at that moment, she turned and disappeared to her room. It was the only time I ever met my Great Grandma, Rose.
Virginia's dad, Joseph, remarried to Rose Joseph' and together they had the following children;
Clarence(Chuck) Gonsalves(1927-)
Norman Gonsalves SR(1931-2017), Patriarch & Great Historian of Benicia
Ernestine Gonsalves(1937-)
Marjorie Gonsalves(Living)

Virginia was accepted as part of the family and Her step siblings were
As much siblings as the closest of siblings. She lived with the family from
Age 7 to age 16, told to me by my Dad!
