Obituary.

Mrs. Sarah Abshire, daughter of Isaac and Rebecka Baker, was born in Jackson county, Ohio, Dec. 8th, 181, and died in Marshall county, Ind., Oct. 27th, 1894. When 10 years of age, she moved with her parents to Henry county, Ind. In 1840 she was married to Eli Cripe who died eighteen months later. To this short but happy union, was born one child, Mrs. Ara Gray of Topeka, Kansas, who came from her western home to be present during her last few hours of life. Sometime after the death of her husband in 1843 she went to St. Joseph county where she lived with her brother Abram and Hiram Baker for the next two years. In 1845 she came to Marshall county. In October of the following year she was married to Ansalem Abshire with whom she lived until his death in 1890. Of this union one child was born, Mrs. Mede Logan of this city with whom she made her home after her husband's death and where she was residing at the time of her death. She was a faithful Christian woman who always tried to make her home happy. She was a member of the Dunkard church for forty years.
