He later earned a Master's Degree and six-year supervisory degree from the same institution. He taught in the Atlanta School system at Georgia High School, then in Clayton County at Jonesboro Senior High School where he met and married a fellow teacher, Mary Virginia Swearingen-Hall in 1989.
