Glenn Russell Childs, 71, passed away at his home June 6, 2018 surrounded by his family after an eight-year struggle with prostate cancer.

Russ attended Granite High School from 1962-1965. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965-1971. He fought in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive in 1968. Russ was a purple heart recipient.

He married Rolleene Childs and with her had Raylynn Campbell, Russell Childs (Jonel), and Reggie Childs (Mandy); they later divorced. He then married Karma Childs; step-children, Ty Pierce, Tracy Pierce, Tiffany Ellingson (Kyle), and Tearle Holbrook.

Russ was a salesman, general contractor, truck driver, hunter, cowboy, bareback bull rider, roper, lover of John Wayne, and grandfather extraordinaire.

He is survived by his mother, wife, children, twenty-one grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Larkin Mortuary of Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South, Riverton. Friends and family may call at the mortuary on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to the services on Monday from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy.
