Carole L. Smith, age 69, passed away May 30, 2018. She was born December 25, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Floyd and Vivian Bales. Carole is survived by her significant other, Troy Kent Ross; her daughters, Deborah (Joe) Dewitt-Stone and Laura (Bobby) Hamblin; her grandchildren: Larry Roberts Jr. (Alicia Campbell), Michael Roberts, Tiffany (Jorge) Garza, Bobby Hamblin, and Kaitlyn Hamblin; great-grandchildren: Blaze Roberts, Anastasia Garza, and Izac Garza. Carole is also survived by her siblings: Dennis (Gwen) Bales, Tom (Sherry) Bales and Sharon Bell and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 4 from 2:00PM-8:00PM with a funeral service being held on Tuesday, June 5 at 11:00AM at PHILLIPS FUNERAL HOME, 122 West Lake Street, South Lyon. Carole will be laid to rest in South Lyon Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
