Isaac Jefferson Boyett, Sr. was a son of Isaac Jefferson Boyett and Frances "Fannie" Antonette Wright Boyett. His father was deceased by 1910. Frances Boyett took in laundry to be able to provide for their children. Isaac worked long hours while a young boy as a messenger making deliveries on his bicycle to help his widowed mother.
When grown he married Viola May Howard, and they had several children. They divorced and he remained single until his death.
