George M. Aswad
George M. Aswad, a former resident of San Carlos and Burlingham, died Friday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Long Beach.
He was 44 and had lived in Phoenix, Ariz. for the past three years. Before that he had lived in San Carlos and Burlingame for five years and was employed by a Berkeley Liquor Store. His wife Martha had been a legal secretary with the Aronson and Cohn Law firm of San Carlos for six years.
Aswad had served in both the Army and Navy, the latter during World War II.
Other survivors include a son George of Phoenix; his mother, Mrs. Fomia Aswad of San Carlos; two brothers, Kamal and Ray, of San Carlos; and three sisters, Mrs. Ved Khouri and Mrs. George Rayhall, both of San Carlos and Mrs. Joseph Fahmia of Berkley.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at White Oaks Chapel in San Carlos, with interment at the Greek Orthodox Cemetery in Colma. Trisagion services will be at 8 tonight at White oaks.

Services for George M. Aswad, 44, were held Tuesday in San Carlos, Calif. Burial was in the Greek Orthodox Cemetery in Colma, Calif.
Mr. Aswad, 3807 W. Georgia, died Friday in the VA Hospital at long Beach, Calif., where he had been ill three months. He moved to Phoenix three years ago from San Carlos and was a produce manager for Basha Markets. Born in Pennsylvania, he served in the Army before Word War II and in the Navy during the War.
Survivors include his wife Martha; a son George of Phoenix; his mother , Mrs. Fomia Aswad of San Carlos; two brothers and three sisters, all living in California
