Paul was born in Tyler, Texas, on Oct. 2, 1947. He was preceded in death by his mother, Corell Ates Brooks, and father, Alvin Thomas Brooks.
Paul retired from East Texas Medical Center after 40 years of service as a supervisor in the laundry facility. He became a resident of Rantoul with his sister and brother-in-law after his retirement in October 2016.
Paul gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of St. James C.M.E. Church in Tyler, Texas.
He leaves to celebrate his life his sister, Margurette Brooks-Carter; niece, LaTonya Carter-Sanders of Crown Point, Ind.; great-niece, Lauryn Sanders; great-nephew, Clarence Edward Sanders Jr.; and a host of cousins and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Greater New Light Baptist Church, 1500 Sheppard Place, Rantoul. The Rev. Otis Evans will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the homegoing service.
Memorials may be made to Greater New Light Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
