Lillian Ruth Smith LaBahn, passed away September 22, 2011 after being seriously ill.

She was born February 16, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Thomas Philip Smith and Ovella Mary Walden.

She was also preceded by her husband, Paul Roger LaBahn and brothers, Walter Jack Smith, Thomas Philip Smith, Jr, Harry B. Smith, and William Lewis Smith.

She spent her youth in Chicago and met her husband during the Christmas holidays while he was on leave from the Navy in 1951. They married five weeks later and immediately started their family. Lillian traveled to California with their five week old daughter, Peggy, in 1953 to meet Paul once he returned from Korea. They eventually settled in Ventura adding Paul, Jr., Nancy and Craig to their family. The family moved to Phoenix, AZ then returned to California eight years later. She was a home maker until her children became young adults then went to work in banking or savings and loan companies until she retired to take care of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her four children, Peggy (Jeff) Madden, Paul (Mary) LaBahn, Jr., Nancy (Lionel) Douglass and Craig (Donna) LaBahn; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Margaret Guinn Smith Moyer.
