Harlem--Arthur McMichael, 77, former mayor of Harlem, died at a Havre hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the civic center in Harlem. Surviving are the widow, a son, Harvey J. McMichael of Tacoma, Wash., a grandson, two sisters and a brother.
Mr. McMichael was born at Owatonna, Minn. He married Elsie Olson in 1910. The couple came to Harlem in 1914, McMichael and his brother-in-law, James Olson, opening a blacksmith shop wihch "Mac" operated alone until his retirement in 1943. Besides serving as Harlem's mayor for 16 years, McMichael served two terms as alderman, was on the school board and the police force.
