Marcella R. Blake

FORT GRATIOT TWP. Marcella R. Blake, 84, a resi- dent of Mercy Village, entered into eternal life on Friday, April 13, 2007.

Mrs. Blake, formerly of Green Cove Springs, Florida and Memphis, Michigan, was employed as a draftsman by the Bell Telephone Company and retired in 1981 following over 39 years of service.

Marcella was born in Applegate, Michigan on July 6, 1922, a daughter to the late Leo and Stella (Hussen) Doyle.

She married Lawrence Mahrer and he died in 1948. She then married Robert Lee Blake on October 31, 1953 in Mt. Clemens and he preceded her in death on February 6, 1989.

Mrs. Blake was an active member of Sacred Heart Cath- olic Church in Green Cove Springs, FL where she served as Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Extension Club. She also worked as a volunteer at the Orange Park Hospital while in Florida and was a member of the Clay County Extension Club.

Marcella moved back to Michigan last year and resided at Mercy Village Apartments where she was a member of the Red Hat Society and an avid "penny poker" player. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Port Huron.

Surviving are her sons, Den- nis (Laura) Blake of Casco and Donald (Sharon) Blake of Jack- sonville, FL; granddaughters, Sarah and Trisha Blake of Casco and Jessica Blake of FL; sister, Virginia Nechita of St. Clair Shores; and brothers, Jim (Mary Ann) Doyle of Applegate and Joe (Phyllis) Doyle of Fort Gratiot.

Funeral mass will be cele- brated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in All Saints Church, Memphis, with The Reverend Joseph R. Horn presiding. Interment will be in Memphis Cemetery.

The family will receive visi- tors in the Kammeraad Funeral Home, Memphis, today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. with a Ro- sary to be prayed at 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, Mrs. Blake will lie in state in the church, prior to the Mass, from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Memorials, in lieu of flow- ers, may be made directly to the family.
