Born to Jean DeHoff Abbott and the late Roger K Abbott in Elkhart, IN. He moved to Sarasota, FL in 2010.
He is survived by his son Joseph Conner Abbott, of ELkhart, IN; sisters, Jacqie Abbott of Elkhart, IN and Shari Abbott of Sarasota, FL; niece, Kara J Waldbeser of Milford, IN; great-niece, Katlyn Waldbeser of Syracuse, IN and nephew, Benji Waldbeser of Syracuse, IN.
Phillip graduated from Elkhart Central High School in 1976. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1972. His proudest moment is when his son Joe also received the rank of Eagle Scout in 2012.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on December 29, from 2-5 pm at the Siesta Harbor Club House, Siesta Key, FL. Please join for a time of sharing. A gathering for those in Elkhart, IN will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice of Sarasota.
