Marjorie (Marge) Adena Aboussie, a beautiful and gracious lady, died Thursday, May 3, 2018, at the young-at-heart age of 96, after a long and blessed life. She treasured every day and approached life with enthusiasm and joy.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Crestview Memorial Park followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Church, 2606 Southwest Parkway, with the Very Reverend John D. Payne and Reggie Coe officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
Marge was born February 18, 1922, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and spent her youth in Hollis, Oklahoma. She married Eddie J. Aboussie on January 26, 1941. They resided in Wichita Falls throughout their marriage. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Marge was a co-owner of Josephine's, a women's retail specialty shop, one of the original businesses established when Parker Square Shopping Center opened in the early 1950s. During four decades, she helped dress hundreds of women with tasteful elegance – young women, matrons, brides, and debutantes. Rather than remain idle after closing her business, she continued working part-time in her son's dental office until his retirement in October 2017.
Marge's greatest pleasure in life was her large extended family. She frequently marveled that her life was full of abundant joy and countless blessings. Her home was always open to family and friends. At every family gathering, she seemed to have the most fun, and she was usually the first to arrive and the last to retire. Marge was known for her incredible cooking, and over the years she and her Lebanese cuisine were loved and savored by countless family and friends alike. She had a beautiful spirit, a ready smile, and a zest for life to the very end.
Until her later years, Marge was an active member of the community and of All Saints Episcopal Church.

She continued living in Wichita Falls surrounded by family until her death last Thursday. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: daughter Carol Aboussie Burnam and husband John W. Burnam; son Dr. Kenny Aboussie and wife Donna Aboussie; son Joey Aboussie and wife Bobbie Aboussie; and daughter Justice Marilyn Aboussie and husband John A. Hay. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great- grandchild. She was proud of every one and loved each one unconditionally.
