Founder of Bradenton, East Manatee City, and Manatee County, Florida. Came south of Tampa Bay in 1841 and settled up the Manatee River. Founded the first school, church, and court house. Was the first judge of East Manatee City. He and his wife, Mary, donated the land for the Court House and Old City Cemetery.∼There are more graves in this family plot.
