MATA, Elizabeth (Beth) Elizabeth Mata, 30, of Stoneham, MA and recently Key West, FL died peacefully Monday January 16, 2017, after an 18 month battle with breast cancer, with her family by her side. Born in Boston, MA, Beth was the cherished daughter of Gerald A and Valerie J Mata, loving sister of Victoria Mata of Key West, FL, granddaughter of Jacqueline Girard of Hamilton and Rudy and Emma Mata of San Antonio, TX. Beth was a 2004 graduate of Stoneham High and a 2010 graduate of Yale University. Passionate about environmental issues, she traveled to Africa twice to assist with studies in the areas of her interest. She moved to Key West in 2014, where she was a beloved friend to many. Visiting Hours: Family and friends are warmly invited to gather and share memories on Monday January 23 from 4-7 PM, with a special remembrance of Beth from 5-6 PM, at the Griffin Museum of Photography, 67 Shore Rd., Winchester, MA. All are welcome.
