William Meade Satterfield III, 46, died June 19, 1996, in a Virginia Beach hospital.

Mr. Satterfield, a native of Norfolk, worked at the Public Work Center at Oceana. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church and the men's choir of the church. He had served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Dam Neck Bowling League.

He leaves a legacy of wisdom, love and fond memories to be treasured by his wife, Ruth Satterfield; daughter, Stephanie of Virginia Beach; his parents, William M. Satterfield Jr. and Winnie of Virginia Beach, of whom he was a devoted son; sister, Linda McKee, and brother, Mark Satterfield, both of Virginia Beach. He also leaves behind numerous family members and beloved friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday by Dr. G. Keith Almond in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Community United Methodist Church, 1072 Old Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, 23464.
