Blagio Antonacci

Blagio Antonacci, 85, of 273 Circle Drive died at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Hospital North.
Mr. Antonacci was born in Italy, the son of Vito and Theresa Materelli Antonacci, and was a verteran of World War I. He married Nicholina Monaldo in 1922 and she died in 1933. He was also preceded in death by a son, Nicholas.
Mr. Antonacci became a resident of Springfield in 1933. He was employed in the state Division of Highways for 12 years and was a former deputy sheriff for Sangamon County. He was a member of the Church of the Little Flower and Veterans of World War Barrack 185.
Surviving are on daughter, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Licata of Springfield; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Celia Yaniski of Springfield and Miss Ada Antonacci of Riverton; two brothers Tony V. of Springfield and Ike of Riverton; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Staab Funeral Home, with Rev. John Spreen officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
