Elizabeth Jane Lanterman was born to Abraham and Martha White Lanterman in Springfield, Sangamon, ILL.
She married Hiram Westlake and they had six children. They farmed in Springfield until 1870 when Hiram moved the entire family to the Salinas Valley, Monterey County in California. She passed away at age 74 while visiting her daughter's family in San Jose, California.
