Janette Pratt was born in Waxahache, TX December 2, 1935. She grew up and attended schools in RedOak, TX, Ferris, TX and Seymour, TX and attended college at Abilene Christian College where she met Tom Anderson. They married July 31, 1955 in Clairmont, TX where Tom was preaching at the time while attending college. Being married to a preacher meant moving several times. They moved to Archer City, TX after Tom's graduation. From there they moved to Claude, TX, from there to Memphis, TX. They then moved to San Marcos, TX and from there to Weatherford, Oklahoma where Tom taught at the Bible Chair on the campus of Southwestern State College. The next move was to Stinnett, TX to another preaching job. From there they moved to Wellington, TX, then to Amarillo, TX.

Following their stay in Amarillo, they moved to Kansas City, MO where Tom worked selling Polaroid professional products which were used to produce photo ID's for large businesses and Janette managed a store which made photo ID's and passport photos. In 1990 they were invited to move back to Memphis, TX and have lived there until the present time.

During these years Janette has worked as a secretary in an insurance firm, bank teller, manager of the Instant Photo, Inc. store and for a short time at Hall County Hospital. During the first few years back in Memphis, She worked at the Church of Christ with the World Bible School program. She mailed thousands of Bible correspondence courses to students in Africa, India and other countries. She then received them, graded them and returned them to the students along with many introductory lessons to students whose names were submitted by student when they returned their lessons.

During much of her life she suffered from Bi-polar disorder, from a severe stroke and a few other various health issues. She passed away peacefully at home under the care of Kindred Hospice on March 15, 2018 at the age of 82 years. She and Tom were married for 62 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.P. and Pauline Pratt; by one brother, Forrest Pratt; by two sisters, Virgina Ann Hamilton and Donna Gail Pratt; and by one daughter, Darla Sain.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Anderson; one son, Terry Anderson and wife, Gerri; one Daughter, Starla McCartney and husband, Greg and by a son-in-law, Mort Sain and wife, Sandy. By 5 grandchildren, Danny Sain, Regina Baukol, Jennifer Payton, Paul Anderson, Timothy Anderson and Jewell Hanna; and by two great grandchildren KyLeigh Hanna and Annabelle Baukol.
She is survived by many friends. Having lived in so many places and worked with several congregations, she is survived by many Christian brothers and sisters whom we love and cherish. And of course there are also the members of Tom's family who loved her dearly.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Fairview Cemetery Association or to the High Plains Children’s Home in Amarillo.
