Kathleen was the daughter of Julius A. Bailey, Jr. of Wayne, PA and Mary Theresa O'Sullivan of County Kerry, Ireland. Although her celebrated birthday was March 17th, at the time of her death it was discovered that she was born on March 16th. Kathleen was born in the house that her father, Julius, was born in Wayne, PA. Kathleen married William John Mansfield on September 25, 1937. Together they had three children:
