Daughter of Alva Henry and Jennie F. Logue Warner. Grace graduated from the University of Kansas in May 1909 with a degree from the School of Fine Arts. The Jayhawker yearbook of that year said that, "Grace is one of the girls of the "shortgrass" who had come to the far eastern Lawrence to shower her talents in dramatics upon the assembled mob of dear critical professors. If she were a boy we might call her a "prince," but she is certainly entitled to the feminine equivalent of that well-meaning epithet." She was in the plays, "The Junior Farce of the Class of 1909," "My Maybelle," "The Climbers '09" and, "As You Like It." She was also a member of the Thespian Dramatic Club. Several years after she graduated she married Carl W. Abercrombie on 21 Aug 1911 in Garden City, Finney, KS. They were the parents of one child, William Warner Abercrombie.

Social

Without exception the most brilliant social event that has occurred in Garden City in many seasons was the announcement party given Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Warner, declaring the engagement of Miss Grace Warner to Mr. Carl W. Abercrombie of Kansas City. Sixteen guests were seated at a 7 o'clock dinner. Suspicion as to the true nature of the occasion did not dawn on those present till this time. There were several who surmised the correct solution of the puzzle, but other amused themselves during the first course with random guesses as to the bride elect. . . . Miss Warner is one of the most attractive girls in Garden City society. Her vivacity, graciousness and charm have won her unstinted admiration and unlimited friends. Mr. Abercrombie who until recently was in business here is deservedly popular. His business ability and general good fellowship entitle him to respect among all who knew him. . .
