Ben was born the middle child of Wilda (Sims) and Curtis Hull on March 7, 1937, in Mesa, Idaho. He is survived by older sister Darlis (Joe Robinson) and younger sister Myrna (John Holsclaw).
Upon graduating from Parma High School, Ben entered the military. He served his country for more than 20 years, including his service as a medic in Vietnam. Ben became a masterful optician, a career he continued after retiring from the military in 1980.
While stationed in England in the late 1950s, he met and married Frances Teaney. Together they had four children, Steven (Constance), Jeanette, Alan, and Step son James (Leah). Steve and Connie have five children, Jennifer, Nathan, Zachary, Samuel and Rachel. James and Leah have two children, Jason and Jonathan. Ben and Fran's marriage ended in the 1970s.
During his last tour of duty in Tobyhanna, Pa., Ben met his future wife, Louise McGowan, on June 17, 1977. He was the love of her life and she his. They have one son, David (Evangelina); and three grandchildren, Sean, Leila and Evan.
In addition to the above named, Ben is survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews, their spouses and children. Special mention to niece JoRea (Larry) Bassett and their children, Mandy, Charity and Larry, who opened their hearts and homes to Ben and his family when they moved here to Lewiston. They made it home.
A memorial will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Orchid Room at Morgans' Alley for friends, family and students. A reception will follow.
