CHILDREN: They had no children of their own, but did have two godchildren. And they adored their nieces and nephews.

NOTE: Chet graduated from grade school in Detroit, MI; but attended no high school. He learned the tool trade at the Henry Ford Trade School in Detroit, MI. Chet had three major jobs in his lifetime: 1) Barley Industries Co. on Jefferson Avenue, Detroit, MI by the Detroit River; 2) as an inspector at Aeronautical Products on Conant St., Detroit, MI; and 3) as an inspector at Clauson Mfg. Co. on Rochester Rd., Clauson, MI for 27 years, before retiring in 1987. Both Chet and Jennette were active in the National Campers & Hikers Association from 1967-1993. Chet and Jennette lived in the Wendall Hall apartments on Brooklyn & Temple in back of the Wonder Bakery in Troy, MI for first year of their married life. Chet was sickly for most of his life, like his mother. Chet never served in the military. His grandparents are buried in Woodmere Cemetery, Detroit, MI. Chet died from heart and other complications at age 84 in the Beaumont Hospital in Troy, MI.
