Max C. Weaver

Max C. Weaver, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Friday, March 2nd, 2018 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester at the age of 88. Mr. Weaver was born in Cleveland, Tennessee to the late John Henry and Willie Estelle Weaver. He graduated from Bradley County High School and went on to attend Tennessee Tech, graduating in 1951. While at Tech, Mr. Weaver played the drums for the Tennessee Tech Troubadours. He then went on to Ole Miss where he obtained his Master's Degree in Music Education. Mr. Weaver was the Band Director for Tullahoma High School and East and West Middle Schools from 1955-1994 and wrote the drill sequences for band half-time shows for approximately twenty years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Tullahoma as well as the Tullahoma Lion's Club. In addition to his parents, Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Weaver; infant son, John David Weaver; two sisters, Ruth Estelle Green and Evelyn Rosalee Gray; four brothers, George Fred Weaver, William Victor Weaver, Eugene Clifton Weaver and Roy Charles Weaver; brothers-in- law, William Thomas Grisham, John Gordan Green, Ward Haskell Smith and Arthur C. Gray; and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Grisham and Ollie Grisham. He is survived by his son, William Allen Weaver and his wife Linda of Tullahoma; brother-in-law, Dr. Joe Wheeler Grisham of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; one grandson, Joseph Ryan Weaver of Tullahoma; and nieces and nephews, Betty Green Morgan, Vickie Weaver Batzka, John Gordon Green, Richard Thomas Green, David Roy Green, Eugene Clifton Jr., Linda Grisham Hartman, Jan Grisham Tidwell, Thomas Grisham and Larry Grisham. Visitation for Mr. Weaver will be held on Monday, March 5th, 2018 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 4:00-8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 at 2:30pm at First Baptist Church in Tullahoma with Dr. J. Herbert Hester officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
