Grover Cleveland Baker was the son of William Shelby and Emma (Smith) Baker. He married Leona Belle Sloan in June of 1915 and they were the parents of two sons, Harold K. Baker and Wayne M. Baker. They divorced and he remarried to Mabel, maiden name unknown. At the time he died he was a resident of Brawley, California. According to his death record he died in "Hospital Civil" in Mexicali, Mexico from cardiac syncope. He was interred in Grave #4, lot #12, Block #2 in the Municipal Cemetery in Mexicali, Mexico.
