Corporal Bloomer was born in Sherman, Texas, the son of Leon and Frances Armstrong Bloomer. He died as a result of injuries sustained in an accident in Danville, Illinois.

He was a 1946 graduate of Sherman High School and attended Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas for two years. He enlisted in the Air Force on 15 April 1948 and was stationed at Chanute Field, Illinois.

Survivors include his parents; one sister, Miss Frances Bloomer; two grandmothers, Mrs. Thomas Bloomer and Mrs. T.E. Armstrong, both of Sherman; two aunts and seven uncles.

Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor E. V. McCullough, pastor of the church, officiating.
