Ted Edward DeFries, 84, of Edwardsville, KS died Fri., Feb. 16, 2018 at his home. Visitation 10 to 11 am, and Funeral 11 am, Thur., Feb. 22, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS burial to follow in Grinter Chapel Cemetery in Kansas City, KS. Ted was born on Oct. 31, 1933 in Kansas City, KS and was a life long area resident. He had retired in 1996 from General Motors Fairfax Plant where he had worked for over 33 years in auto assembly. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. He was a member of the Edwardsville Christian Church. He liked helping his son Terry run his "Mud Truck" and traveling with friends in the midwest. Ted was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Peggy DeFries in 2004. And is survived by four children Steven DeFries (Caron) of Edwardsville, KS; Patricia Sue Black (Jay); Terry DeFries (Tina) and Peggy Anne Scholl (Philip Malay) all of Kansas City, KS. One brother Jack DeFries and one sister Jeanne Bradwell both of Kansas City, KS. 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
